Brigitte Upshaw
Brigitte brings a wealth of experience in addressing substance use, stress, life transitions, separation, anxiety, and depression. Her goal is to help you develop strategies to navigate the challenges in your life.
Brigitte approaches each session with a sense of equality, and will walk alongside you on your journey in a safe and supportive environment. With her calm and curious approach, Brigitte will help you explore your goals and build on your strengths.
Holding a Degree in Psychology and registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, Brigitte has worked in the social work field since 2008. Her experience includes supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting those affected by domestic violence, collaborating within a multidisciplinary Hepatitis C team, providing community withdrawal management and addiction counselling and most currently working in an emergency department serving moderate to severe mental health and crisis assessments.
With a holistic approach, Brigitte focuses on your overall wellness, and all its components including routine, sleep, nutrition, moving your body, and refocusing the mind.

Brigitte’s therapeutic approaches include Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help individuals start improving their day-to-day life and find life balance.
Brigitte works with individuals, couples, and families, and offers a complimentary 15-minute meet and greet phone calls before scheduling a full session to ensure she aligns with your needs.
